Addiction, danger, patience, and faith pulled me in

Addicted to the Duke: An Imperfect Lords Novel - Bronwen Evans

A terrible past haunts Alex and he must face his demons when he rescues Hestia. She knows her heart belongs to Alex, but it takes a lot of faith, patience, and strength to help him find his way to his own heart. Alex is a very tortured soul, physically and emotionally, and I wanted to help him see the light. Hestia is young and honest, but learns and accepts the bad in the world, and I applauded her strength. I highly recommend this story and give a mild warning about the dark aspects of this story. It kept me reading whenever I could. I enjoy Ms. Evans stories, and look forward to more in this series.

Finding love lifts them from despair

An Unnatural Vice (Sins of the Cities) - KJ Charles

Dark and unusual story, second in a series with a common thread. This is Nathaniel's story as he tries to help find the people behind his friends' troubles. He encounters Justin when he attempts to debunk a seance. Justin is one of the most unhappy people ever. Their relationship is adversarial, touching, and just what they each need. Danger brings them closer and shows what is really important. I really enjoyed this story, and look forward to more from this author.

Very interesting listen

Re-Wired - Greg Dragon

There were plenty of twists to this story, and I did not want to stop listening. Brad is lonely and makes an android. Tricia is so real, others cannot tell that she is not human. The emotional ups and downs, and the wondering which way will it go kept my attention. I felt sorry for both Tricia and Brad as the story played out, and the ending caught me off guard. I really liked this story.

Love means leaning on others

Bryce (The Player) (Volume 1) - Nana Malone

Bryce needs to recover from his injury but has not real drive until he sees Tammy. Together, they face their fears and move forward with their lives. Bryce was a sweetheart but a little too used to getting what he wants. Tammy was strong but had to learn to let go. I enjoyed this listen.

How far will you go for love?

Bound By Darkness (Eternally Mated Novel) - Valerie Twombly

This was my first story in this series. Kelana is out for revenge. She has a strong spirit because of everything she has gone through, yet she is willing to accept the new experiences. She rescues Lyzander from torture and together they face danger. Lyzander is a little wary to start but accepts that she is his mate. He stole my heart when he went to great lengths to save Kelana. I enjoyed this book a lot and will be checking out the rest of the series.

A very steamy but quick read

Lord Barclay's Seduction: An Erotic Historical Menage (Cavern of Pleasures) - Em Brown
I picked up this story for a quick read. It is a steamy read with a first M/M for Jonathan. It is an interesting glimpse into the life of Jonathan. The interaction between Genevieve and Phineas throughout the encounter was one of acceptance.

This is my unsolicited review.

Troubles in Legacy continue, good read

Yearning: Enchanting the Shifter (Legacy: A Paranormal Series Book 3) - Ciana Stone, Mary Harris

Grace returns to Legacy where her heart had been broken. I loved how she aspired to be the person she once was, to overcome the damage her ex had done to her. She put family first even when she thought she was losing her mind. Beau was a caring and patient man. I enjoyed his interactions with Grace's children and mother. Once Grace accepted Beau and all that she had seen, the strength they had together was nice to see. I enjoyed this story and have enjoyed the series.

Good beginning to a series, wonderful characters

Wed to a Spy: An All the Queen's Spies Novel - Sharon Cullen
This is going to be a good series. Aimee is inept as a spy but has the strength of character as a warrior. Simon is a great spy but wants out of the business. Sparks fly as danger and death surround them. This was a page turner for me. What would happen next? Would they get caught? I enjoyed the characters, the setting, and the story telling. I recommend this book as well as this author.

When Things Got Hot in Texas - $0.99

Opposites bring out the best in each other

Trying It All - Christi Barth

Riley always plans ahead, works out what can go wrong, then finds a way to minimize the damage. His world is shaken up when he tries to prove to Summer he can be impulsive and kisses her in public. Their hate-hate relationship becomes a learning curve for both of them as they work around their completely opposite views on how to live life. I really enjoyed Riley's willingness to step outside himself to correct his view on life. No matter how angry or hurt he was, he took that step forward. Summer's need to live in the now countered that, but she also accepted the changes he brought into her life, and this made the story a good read.

Good read.

Hot Shot: A Last Shot Novel - Kelly Jamieson

Carrie is a model with a complete understanding of the superficial nature of her job. Her career is coming to an end and she is trying to figure out where to go from here. She puts plans in motion and then is confronted with Marco. Their friends are together so they need to find a way to get along. In learning about each other for the short term, they find more deep within the other. The vulnerabilities that these two have made the story more interesting, more real. I thoroughly enjoyed this story.

Very quick read with dark material

Harvest Moon - J.E. Taylor

This is a lead in to Blood Moon. Alessandra makes a bad decision that leads to the nightmare of her life. This is a dark story that may have triggers for some people. It is not too graphic in details but enough to allow the reader to understand what is happening.

I purchased this book elsewhere, and this is my unsolicited review.

Quick read, a little dark

Blood Moon - J.E. Taylor

Alessandra survived one horrific night and exacted her revenge with the help of Hunter. Having broken Council rules, they are on the run. She wanted to remain strong and found the strength within herself because of Hunter. The story is a quick read and is full of danger, rescues, and making the ultimate choice for love and happiness.

First story by Amy Daws and loved it!

Challenge - Amy Daws

This was an unexpected story. I fell in love with both Indie and Camden from the beginning. There were several points where I had tears in my eyes as my heart and their hearts were breaking. I am glad for the strength of Indie to move beyond her comfort zone and for Camden's jumping in with both feet when he realized that this was different. The idea of using each other to help themselves achieve something was not unusual but was played out brilliantly. I highly recommend this story, and I enjoyed the use of the two voices in the telling.

Audio version of a series of graphic novels, done with multiple voices

Locke & Key (Full cast audio) - Joe Hill

This was most definitely an interesting listen. I enjoyed all the different voices as the story unfolds. There are many secrets in this house, and following the Locke family through many dangers and unusual situations kept me listening. Having the different actors helped keep the people straight. This set consists of several books though none truly end as the story focus just changes and characters resurface. There are a few moments when I felt that a visual was needed, but it did not take away from the story. Be prepared for the dark nature of this story.

I received this as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.

Enjoyable continuation of the series and world.

Veil of Mists (Seven Deadly Veils Book 2) - Diana Marik

This is the next installment in the world of the Seven Deadly Veils. The story progresses with lots of secrets, duplicity, danger, and passion. I enjoyed the deepening of the connection between Remare and Miranda. I have been waiting for this. As well, Miranda's abilities are growing and changing. The ending of this story surprised me and had me laughing as the different points of view were shared. I have enjoyed this series to this point, and this is no exception. I look forward to more of this world and watching Miranda become the person she is meant to be.
