I read this as an ebook while listening to the audiobook. This is the second book in this series, and now I cannot wait to read the next one. It is a love story with a lot of brutal reality surrounding that love. Enya, the youngest daughter of a baronet, tries the patience of those around her. She loves her freedom and has become an excellent archer. There are the moments that arise when she realizes that she may not be able to protect herself from harm or from her father's plans, yet she continues to be confident that all will be fine. Into her life comes Bran. Her feelings for him are instant and strong, and she goes against the rules of the nobility to have what she craves. Bran has become a man since the first book and what a man. He has the love and trust of his laird to help with Lord Ross' plans to rescue Queen Mary. His desire for Enya grows until both forget all propriety and they fall in love. Despite being pulled apart several times, they never give up on each other and finally fulfill their dreams.
